It's the Great Pumpkin, Connor Estee!

Today we headed off to the apple orchard and pumpkin patch with our friends Meg, Dave, and Mairead. Our first stop was the small petting zoo the orchard has set up for the kids. Connor saw his first sheep, turkey, chicken, and goat. There was actually a turkey wandering around the premises, but he kept his distance from us (do you blame him?). Connor seemed most interested in the chicken, but when the old billy goat with the very long beard came by, Connor thought he was pretty funny.

Next, we took the kids to the pumpkins. Both Mairead and Connor seemed to love this. They were probably wondering what all the giant orange toys were. Connor loved to bang on the pumpkins. I'm sure if he had it his way, he'd roll the pumpkins all over the farm. He loves to do that with all of his toys.

After a snack, we purchased pumpkins and cider and headed off to pick apples. Unfortunately, the orchard itself was closed (apparently Columbus Day weekend is the last of the picking). We headed back to the store to buy a couple bags of apples, then went back to our house for some yummy Thai food with Meg and Dave. All in all, it was a very fun day!

Connor's first Cider donut!

Picking the right pumpkin.

Neither one of them looked at the camera at the same time. But they're still too cute!

Again, neither one looked at the same time, but that's what photoshop is for, right?

Baby Fight

Ok, not really a baby fight. Since the babies were in the womb, Joey and Dave have joked about having the babies wrestle, and they've called it Baby Fight. On Sunday, Meg was down with Mairead for a brunch with Jennifer, Jenn, and Julie. The babies were playing, and Mairead found one of Connor's soft blankets. As they were sitting in front of the TV, they were both reaching for it. When it was on Mairead's lap, Connor would reach over and take it (without looking away from the TV, mind you). When Connor had it, Mairead would reach over and grab it. They did this for several minutes. At one point, they did tug it back and forth, until Mairead used her brut strength and grabbed it, then crawled away. It was so cute! I'm sure we won't be saying this when they're two and screaming at the top of their lungs, but for now, it was.

Note the subtle way Connor is taking the blanket away.

Now they mean business!

And she's off! Mairead as she's about to take off with the blanket.

My Birthday Party!

This past weekend Connor had his birthday party. It was a beautiful fall weekend (my prayers worked) and we were able to have his party out on our large deck. Connor was very lucky to be able to share the day with family and friends, who traveled from all over just to be there. The theme of his party was "Miss Spider", which is his favorite cartoon. I made a cake in the shape of Bounce, a blue bedbug, and he loved it. He was covered with blue frosting and it took a long soak in the bath to get it all off. But it was wonderful to see him enjoy his first cake! Connor also enjoyed all of the wonderful gifts that everyone gave him. His friends are so generous! He loves all of his toys and clothes, and has been playing non-stop with all these new playthings! Thank you to everyone for coming and being so generous. Connor is indeed a lucky boy. For more pictures of the day, check out the slideshow to the right!

Connor and Mairead love this Elmo! They have their matching shirts on, too!

Connor wanted this hat off and was so frustrated when he couldn't do it himself.

Layla and her Mom, Jess. What a cutie!

More playtime with Elmo.

I love this pic... Connor looks like he's telling a story.

Connor's Birthday Slideshow

For those of you who couldn't make it to Connor's birthday party, we've posted the slideshow we showed to everyone. Just be sure to turn off the blog music before playing, since the slideshow itself has music.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CONNOR!!!

I can't even believe it myself, but our little boy turned 1 whole year old this past weekend (October 4th). The time has absolutely flown, and we have enjoyed every possible minute with our little man. He has been the most amazing thing to happen to us, and we are so completely blessed to have him in our lives. Connor has been our world for the past twelve months, and we cannot believe he is no longer our little "baby". We have loved watching him grow and explore the world around him. I sometimes catch myself just staring at him wondering how I got so lucky to have such an amazing child (yes, I know every mother feels this way, but it's TRUE).

We spent the weekend in Vermont with Grammy, Grampy, and the entire Bouvier clan. Cousin Sarah got married on Connor's birthday, so he was able to spend the day with our good friend, Sarah Lathrop, while Mom and Dad attended the wedding. They had a blast walking around town and taking pictures at all the "hot spots" in town with their party hats on(and for those who have never been to Bristol, VT, the hot spots included the library, the bakery, the bandstand, St. Ambrose, the post office and the bank...it's a small town). Sarah was SUCH a good sport to be seen all about town with her Miss Spider party hat on. She said she wouldn't do it for just anyone, but Connor was worth it (pictures to come soon!).

On Sunday, Connor was able to see the family at the brunch for Sarah and Tom. We wish we could have stayed longer, but a five hour trip was ahead of us. He was able to see Tracy, Benjamin, and Madeline, who made the trip up from Virginia, and finally got to see Cullen and Ki who hadn't met him before! Connor loved everyone, and especially loved playing with his cousin, Lauren. It was a fun day filled with family, food, and fun! We wish we were able to spend more time with everyone... those darn jobs get in the way!

We want to thank everyone for their love and generosity this past year. Connor is so lucky to have an amazing group of friends and family to love him. If he could talk, he would tell you all how wonderful you are. We love you!
